YRA’s First Day 2018! (7 images)

YRA’s First Day 2018! We had a great first day exploring our Reception classroom. We have started to learn our new school rules and discover everything in our learning environment. We have started to make lots of new friends and learn how to play and share.

Term 3 2018 (21 images)

We have been working hard this term to learn 9 Nursery Rhymes and the meanings of each story. We starting January by setting new goals and are working hard each week to reach them. We have learnt lots of new songs and the meanings of old words like “tuffet”. We have explored where “Gloucester” is in the song Dr Foster and made our own maps. We have learnt lots of positional language to help us with our directions to school and to find out how maps can help us. In reception we also had lots of special visits from the Police, the Farm and Millie’s mum who works in a hospital. They have all helped us learn more about each Nursery Rhyme: The police even helped us to solve a crime when Humpty Dumpty was pushed off the wall! We tried lots of new experiences: playing new musical instruments such as the “fiddle” and making our own pancakes with our broken Humpty Dumpty Eggs.
