HoraceWe continued with our Animated Film Project creating some more films to enter in the RAC Road Safety Competition which closed just before Christmas. We had 2 of our original films shortlisted, one of which won the Runners Up prize in the age 7-11 category. The RAC came into school to present us with a cheque for £500 at a special Assembly on 26th March 2015. The Runners Up entry was by Ryan who was in Year 6 last year, see his video 'RAC Competition Video 2' below. A team of girls from Year 5 created the other film that was shortlisted. They were Madison, Amber Lauren and Timara, see their video 'RAC Competition Video 3' below Ryan's.

Also in Terms 1 and 2 we ran some Typing Games sessions and started our Penpals Project. For the Penpals Project we have linked up with a school on the outskirts of Milton Keynes and also one in Mahaicony in South Guyana, South America.

In Terms 3 and 4 some pupils continued to communicate with their Penpals while others learnt how to use Kodu, a coding program. Three boys in Year 6 created a Kodu Game which they entered into the Kodu Kup Competition for Schools run by Microsoft every year. Unfortunately we didn't win this time but they should be congratulated on the effort they put in.

In Terms 5 and 6 some we did some online language taster courses and created a School Magazine using Microsoft Publisher. Some pupils created a questionnaire, interviewed staff and took photos to create their pages while other made some school related comic strips using Comic Life which were then incorporated into the finished magazine.
